Austrian Food

This was an excellent sparkling mineral water in Austria, with a wide neck for better pouring. The Austrians take their mineral water seriously, with branded umbrellas and special glasses.

First meal in Linz was a Wiener Schnitzel - from a garden restaurant adjoining a hotel in Linz.

This is Linzertorte - a historic cake made continuously for 350 years in Linz, and presents as an almond cake with jam.

This from a pub in Linz - small yellow mushrooms with scrambled eggs.

From the same pub - boiled beef with sliced potatoes and broccoli cream. Apple and horseradish sauce on the side.

This is from a good restaurant in Linz, the Herberstein. Three kinds of lamb, with goat's cheese cannoli and bok choy.

We ate often at the Nachtmarkt in Vienna. This is from a diner - two types of sausage and sauerkraut.

From a Japanese restaurant in Vienna - nigiri and inari.

This is at the Kantine cafe in Vienna - weisswurst with fruity sauce and rye bread,
